Hand up

Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

There’s something to be said about the hand up.  So many of the young people around me are buying homes I could only dream of at that age.  They basically had the guidance and counsel and most times the financial backing of their parents.  Don’t get me wrong my parents helped me as much as they could and passed on wisdom that would better be used in a small town I guess.  The hand up is so important these days.  I hope I remember to give a hand up to my boys when the time comes.

Yeah! I’m back to my blog.  A lot has happened since the last time.  The Drool Monster has a baby brother that drools even more than him and the new little guy is quite the nibbler too.  Now remember I said in the beginning I wasn’t much of a diary person.  My sweet husband changed my website so now I have to post to show it off.  I can’t guarantee that I will make sense because I might have to exit at any time.  With two little boys anything can happen.  The title of this blog is Xmas so let me get on with that.  All I want for Xmas is Sean’s morning naptime back without giving up the afternoon naptime.  I know that’s not possible so I’ll take a Starbuck’s giftcard instead.  I personnally do not like their coffee ( I think it tastes like mudd yes I know what mudd tastes like I was a kid once and a mudd ball fight resulted in mudd landing on my face and well I think you get the gist of that story).  What I do like about Starbucks is the drivethru and the idea that if I want coffee bad enough I can pack up the kids in the minivan and get some coffee and a scone.  Then I can drive around the neighborhood enjoying my treats because the kids are strapped down I mean strapped in thier seats and can’t bother me.  That’s really the only way I can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning.  I have never tried this but I imagine it.  Oh well. Maybe some day.

X-mas list update

So I was looking over the Xmas list from last year and I think a lot of it was pretty silly.  I was trying to come up with stuff just to have a list.  I got some of them but one didn’t come in a pretty box or even wrapped unless you count lint as wrapping.  A few months ago I was cleaning out the trash can in the laundry room when I noticed some unusual items amongst the lint and dryer sheets.  It turns out I did’nt have a house elf stealing my sunglasses at least not a real elf but someone just as short and mischeavious.   Yeah, the Little Guy aka Nibbler aka DroolMonster had not one but two of my sunglasses in the trash can.  I found also  a  babyspoon and a Vanilla Ice cassette tape.   Sure I didn’t see him do it but I know his M.O.  There’s no telling how many other things have gone the way of the trash can.  Beware!

Been a long time

It’s been a long time since I blogged.  I was never consistent with a diary either.

The Little Guy is 15 months now.  He’s quite a handful.   Gymboree isn’t working out well for him.  He’s not interested in group activities.  He does like to dance.

I hope he sleeps thru the night( He usually does).

Because Someone said so…

Someone who shall not be name said I needed to post something new. I have to agree. The holidays are over, the decorations are down finally. My boy keeps me on my toes. He’s crawling at warp speed. He’s actually pretty sneaky about it. He’ll crawl a few feet then sit up and look at me all innocent and when I’m not looking he’ll crawl some more. Before you know it he’s pulling plugs out of the wall or chewing on some paper he found. I know you’re thinking I didn’t babyproof the place. It’ a work in progress. The little guy is amazing to watch. Some much changes so quickly. He is now almost 8 months old. He can and will pull himself up every chance he gets. He even pulls himself up just using a flat wall. He’s getting better at sitting back down and not just falling over. He has two bottom teeth that are very sharp. Scooping things out of his mouth can be painful. He laughs more often but he is still a serious little boy. Yes I am rambling a bit but my thoughts these days are as scattered as the toys on the living room floor.

So we have the little guy on a sleeping and eating schedule. It keeps me real busy and I can hardly leave the house because I want to protect his routine. I’m turning into one of those moms. I hope to loosen up soon. Here’s a run down of said schedule..

7am – Baby wakes up, has some milk, plays with toys (maybe breakfast)
9am – Baby goes down for nap, mommy gets a shower and breakfast

1030 to 11am – Baby wakes up, has breakfast (oatmeal with fruit)

12pm – bottle of milk, maybe lunch, walk to mailbox

Peter Pan peanut butter is the best.  I always knew this to be true.  They were the first to make a stable product.
